2008 Nationwide Conference of Evangelical Free Church Congregations
More than 1,000 visitors and members of parliament from Germany and abroad attended exhibitions, discussion forums and bible workshops in the Kongress Palais in Kassel under this year’s motto: “Generations Coming Together”. This year for the first time a large tent was erected in the Palais courtyard in order to stage various additional events. Church services and assembly sessions in the Festival Hall (Festsaal) took place in the same warm and friendly atmosphere that characterised the whole conference.

20th Waste Disposal Forum in Kassel
Organisers: Witzenhausen-Institut für Abfall, Umwelt und Energie GmbH (The Witzenhausen Institute Ltd. for Waste Disposal, Environmental and Energy Concerns). The first Waste Disposal Forum attracted 550 participating companies. In 1993, figures leapt to more than 1,000 companies registering to participate in the Forum and numbers are still similar today. Since 1990 more than 20,000 industry representatives have visited the annual Waste Disposal Forum in Kassel in order to meet colleagues and keep abreast of the latest developments in Germany’s waste disposal industry.

Christian Health Conference
1,100 people participated in Germany’s first Christian Health Conference which lasted two and a half days from 26 – 29 May, 2008. The theme of the conference: “Authorised to Heal on a Professional, Community and Social Level” attracted a record number of visitors from the healthcare professions.
