German Fairy Tale Route

German Fairy-Tale Route

Kassel – the capital of the German Fairy-Tale Route

Löwenburg

Fantastic, unique and somehow spellbinding – the kind of surroundings where you might run into a good fairy as twilight descends. That’s what the Brothers Grimm thought and they spent 30 years of their life in Kassel where they collected their world-famous fairy tales and legends.

Brüder Grimm Statue In Kassel, the capital of the German Fairy-Tale Route, the Brüder Grimm-Museum bears testimony to the life and work of the prominent literary scholars Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. In addition, Kassel is celebrating two special anniversaries this year – the German Fairy-Tale Route which is 30 years old and Dorothea Viehmann, the woman who related fairy tales to the Brothers Grimm – who would now be 250 years old!
